From the force applied on an object / sample deeped or in contact with the surface of a liquid, the scientist can easily measures the energy of interaction between a liquid and a surface.

For example, this energy of interaction measured can be converted in Surface tension  / Interfacial tension of liquids thanks to very easy equation

Surface tension

Interfacial tension Liquid - Air

Interfacial tension Liquid-Liquid

Wettability of powder

Wetting hysteresis

Density of liquid

CMC

To get this measure:

1/ - Hang a clean lame made of Platinum in a liquid below a weighing sensor.

2/ - Move a beaker up up to deep the lame in the liquid

3/ - Move the beaker down while a survey of the force applied to the lame is recorded

4/ - The force with the highest value can be converted in the Surface tension of  the liquid
